Bring your walking shoes and binoculars for a lively, fall noticing walk along the Squaw Sachem’s Trail to Egg Rock, Assabet Woodlot, Brengle-Ham Field, Shaw Land, and Brooks Hudson-Meadow. Concord birder, naturalist, and writer, Peter Alden, will captivate with engaging stories and his knowledge of the natural surroundings. 

Apple cider and cookies will be provided at the end of the walk!

Walk Guide Bio:

Peter Alden is a native son and world renowned naturalist, lecturer, ecotourism guide and author of 15 books on North American and African wildlife, including the National Audubon Society’s Regional Field Guide Series. Together with E.O. Wilson, he organized the first Biodiversity Day at Walden Woods in 1998 and ran similar bioblitzes in 2009 and 2019 in Concord and Lincoln. 3,600 species of flora, fauna and fungi have now been verified. He is considered to be an authority on birds and larger mammals of the world and has lead tours in over 100 countries for more than 55 years. His knowledge of wildlife, invasive plants and biodiversity of the northeast will make for a highly informative walk today.
